New Families Information Booklet.

We had to write a Information Booklet  for new families that are going to start South Hornby School so that they know about our amazing school. We are making this booklets so they know what we do and what we learn about. This is what i rite about to put in the Information Booklet.

When new families move to Hornby we want them to come to South Hornby School because we offer lots of different and amazing things.

The year 5 and 6’s  go on School camps. We go every year in term 4 only. At School camp we play lots of games. We go hiking and we do archery.  

The whole school does kiwi Can. Kiwi Can is where Katie and Nathan teach us about all our school values. We go to kiwi Can once every cool week of school. We play lots and lot of cool and amazing fun games it is awesome.

Mr M’s Mega Morning tea is when Mr M calls over the speakers I want my fabulous people to the staff room. The teachers call out people's names and the people go to the staff room. At the staff room you drink Milo and eat Marshmallows,Melo Puffs and lots more food beginning with m. Mr M eats with you.

Last thing is South Hornby is awesome and coolest school i have ever been to ever and it offers lots of different opportunities.

Digi Award Work

My blog post is about Digi Awards and Saving Kiwis.

Save the kiwis…

For Digi Awards I did Digital Art. First we brainstormed as a class to understand what Be The Change means. I chose to Be The Change by inspiring others to save the kiwis. For Digital Art I learned how to take photos with different angles on an Ipad and had to take lots of photos. The camera angle I used is a front on shot. The hardest thing was getting the picture perfect. I made a kiwi mask to represent the kiwi in my photo. My photo shows Be The Change by picking up rubbish around the kiwi’s home.

Olympics reading

                               Today for Reading...

We had to do more Olympics work. For Olympics work for today we had to go onto a Website then chose a sport after that we had to learn about it and write the aim of the game, two rules of the game and the name of the sport. I did table tennis. Then we had to make a doc of the sport. And that is what we did for reading.

This is my many colored days in a rainbow. We used thing link. thing link is you do a pitcher then you go on thing link a you insert it and get the story sentences and put then in the dots and that is how you use thing link. And it do sentences in a different way.

Troll Description

In writing we are learning to describe characters. We are learning to use similes and adjectives. We described a Troll.

My Many Coloured Days Poem

We have been learning to write poems in  literacy  with Mrs Mcguinniety first  Mrs Mcguinniety reed the story then we brain stored our ides next we rite our poems.  

Be There

We have been learning about our values. We had to make slide shows, poster on paper or digital. I made  a slide show. Then the teachers presented it to the class. Be there is all about  caring for everyone even if there mean. And it means help people that need it. 

Anzac ted

We watched the story about Anzac Ted. We had to describe what he looked like. We had to use adjectives.

We have been learning to do pastel art. We had to sketch it out and do the patterns what we want on our hills or water or sun. We could only choose one pattern in a place. We wanted it on our sun water or hills. I did it on the hills because I thought it looked cooler. The pattern on the sun goes fat skinny fat skinny. The water has spires that is not another pattern that just how it goes. The hill pattern goes straight curved and again and again. There are lines in the hills.  

Goodbye summer hello autumn

In Literacy we have been learning about Autumn.We went outside and listened to the sounds around us. Then we wrote our poems. The poem is about goodbye summer hello Autumn.  We were learning about adjectives  and how to write a good  poem. 

Bubble Writing

We have been learning how to use adjectives and similes. First we had to do attempt 1 when we did it had to do 5 Sentences then we did Attempt 2. This time we had to do the same thing but there's a twist we had to make it more detailed, so we had to make it better . Then Attempt 3 it  was much cooler and better because there are similes and adjectives.

Keep Trying!

      

We have been learning about our new values.They are called our People Powers. We made a poster for the juniors about one of the values. I did KEEP TRYING UNTIL YOU GET RIGHT which is Play. That means you have fun with your learning. My favourite thing about this activity was we got to do a digital poster. I learned that learning is fun and never give up.

Enlargement

We have been learning about Enlargement.Enlargement is when you get a little picture and you have to do the same picture but bigger. First we started with shapes then pastel and now this. I did a sheep it turned out ok .I like it.It was annoying when I was coloring it because  there wasn't the same colors as a real sheep .
